Overall, 837 interviews were completed with Qatari nationals with an average age of 34 years. The participants were asked many questions, and it was interesting to see that more than half of the participants had heard of related genetic tests.
The most encouraging result was that over 70% of those surveyed said they would participate in a national programme like QGP.
The results of these surveys helped QGP design for the next stages.
Furthermore, 92% of the respondents agreed on keeping genetic tests for future health needs, they were equally split between strong agreement and agreement (46% each).
There were no differences by age, gender or education in the responses to this statement.
